Sarah Nadin
Visual Artist
In 2005 Sarah graduated from the Liverpool School of Art with a Ba(hons) Graphic Arts. After leaving university she went onto teach English in schools and business across Northern Italy. When she returned to the UK in 2007 Sarah became a freelance Visual Artist using photographic, digital and hand generated processes for public and private commission. Through her work Sarah has gained vast experience developing projects and facilitating workshops in the public realm working in community settings across North Staffordshire and the Peak District. Examples of past projects include, Drawing the World, The Big Book Project, Art34, How Many and Merrial Street Mural project. Sarah is also the lead visual artist for 're:stoke', a collective of artists that combine their specialisms to produce high quality participatory work in Stoke-On-Trent with particular emphasis on community integration and regeneration. Her collaboration with the re:stoke artists has seen her use her broad experience to develop work for a wider audience. In February 2009 she created a digital collage, placed on the side of 15 buses travelling through Stoke-On-Trent. For 're:mind' in December 2009 she created three animated shorts, informed and inspired by public opinion, projected in and on buildings for this 360 degree site-specific performance.

Projects & Commissions
6th Form Ceramic Tile installation (in progress)- Commissioned by Broadway Malyan architects and informed by students of the college this project aims to create a digital ceramic installation that conveys the ethos and future of the college in its new location.
Aiming High (in progress) - Regular 'Arts Hubs' that aim to encourage and develop new skills in young people with disability and learning difiiculties.
Merrial Street Mural - 6 square metre collaged mural based on the theme of 'minimising alcohol harm' in young people. Participants were aged 14-19 and were from local youth services and Newcastle-Under-Lyme College
Remind - 360 degree performance of animation, photography, dance and music based on the memory and nostalgia of Stoke Town. This project employed the services of 7 local artists and 4 volunteers.
Place, Space and Identity 2; 'Benches' - A 2.5 metre long photographic / digital artwork placed on 15 buses travelling through Stoke-On-Trent. Informed by public opinion the project aimed to reveal the contemporary identity of Stoke.
Creative Parents Creative Children (Book, Published, Jan 2009) - A celebratory book to commemorate 8 years of collaborative projects between Barts and Newcastle Children's Centre
ART34 - 5 digital portraits of young people whose families had strong connections with coal mining and heavy industry. The portraits are on permanent display in Chatterley Whitfield mining museum.
Drawing the World - A series of workshops that explored storytelling through art, animation, photography and song. Participants were mostly displaced women for whom English was a second language.
How Many Maths Book (Published Sept 2008) - A illustrated maths book produced and designed by parents living in deprived areas.
The Big Book Project (As part of Big Draw) - Based on the theme of 'Journeys' a series of photography and illustration workshops held in the Peak District with young people from rural / hard to reach areas.
